Large angle bars provide structural support to columns and beams, giving additional strength and stability. They also provide both vertical and horizontal supports for buildings, such as towers and broadcasting equipment. Since angle bars are made using galvanized steel, they are more resistant to corrosion and other weather effects.
Angle bars can also cover edges and corners, helping the structure stay in shape and avoid the usual wear and tear ordinarily caused by the weather. Sharp corners and edges reinforced with angle bars can last longer and resist chipping and corrosion. They also provide additional strength and make each corner more stable.
In places where a lot of welding and other industrial activities occur, angle bars can be used to move heavy objects from one point to another when no cart or trolley is available. To do this, flip the angle bar with its closed side pointing upward and its open side facing the floor. Place the object on top and push it to slide on top of the bar's point until the object reaches its destination.
Smaller angle bars support bed frames, tables and benches. They are also frequently used as a prop for shelves anchored onto the wall. They provide strong support when shelves are loaded with heavy things. Because of their industrial appearance, however, angle bars are best suited to hold up shelves in areas like garages and laundry rooms.
