How to Change the Trex Transcend Color

The only way to change the color of a Trex Transcend deck is to paint it. You may use any type of paint you would like, but Trex recommends relying on paint from one of the following companies: Behr, Olympic or Sherwin Williams. If done correctly, the paint will, according to Trex, "last as long as or longer than paints or stains on wood." Plus, the Trex deck absorbs minimal moisture, meaning the paint won't become checked or split.

     Wait approximately 12 to 16 weeks after installing the Trex Transcend so that it can fade. Starting too early can cause the paint to become discolored.

     Clean your Trex Transcend spraying it with a hose to remove surface debris. Your best option is to use a 15,000 psi power washer.

     Apply the paint according to the manufacturer's directions.
